Asphalt

New asphalt and resurfacing for surfaces that need a strong, smooth wearing course, planned for traffic, drainage, and Minnesota weather.

What we deliver

Whether you are replacing failed pavement or installing new asphalt, we focus on stable base work, proper compaction, and clean joints so the surface holds up to freeze-thaw cycles and plowing.

Hot-mix asphalt gives you a dense, smooth wearing course that sheds water when cross-slope and drainage are right. We pay attention to tie-ins at gutters, aprons, and existing concrete so transitions stay even and less likely to crack at the edges.

Base, drainage, and thickness

Soft or saturated subgrade is what causes a lot of premature failures. Where we see pumping, rutting, or alligator cracking, we discuss whether the fix is mill and overlay, full-depth replacement, or base stabilization before new asphalt goes down.

Thickness and mix design follow how you use the area: passenger cars, delivery trucks, or equipment. We explain the tradeoffs in plain terms so you can align cost with how long you need the surface to last.

When asphalt is the right choice

We’ll walk the site with you, note drainage and weak spots, and recommend thickness and scope that match how the area is used, not a one-size-fits-all bid.

  • Residential and rural drives with regular vehicle traffic
  • Commercial and industrial yards that need a durable driving surface
  • Paths and small roads where a paved surface improves access and safety
  • Areas where you want a uniform surface for plowing, sweeping, and line marking

How we work with you

We schedule around your access needs when possible, keep work zones clearly marked, and give realistic timelines for compaction and use so you can plan around the job.

After paving, you’ll get clear guidance on when foot traffic, passenger vehicles, or heavier loads can use the surface. Weather and ground temperature affect cure, so we set expectations for Minnesota seasons rather than a generic “drive on it tomorrow” answer.

Maintenance over time

Crack filling, sealcoating when appropriate, and prompt repairs at catch basins or low spots help asphalt reach its full life. If you are unsure whether to patch, resurface, or replace, we can prioritize options with you based on condition and budget.
